Hairstyle of the day: Game of Thrones-Cersei Lannister

Hello everyone!

Today's hairstyle was one of these "quick, easy and looking good"- hairdos. It's a hairstyle worn by Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones in Season 2 Episode 1 (The North remembers).

I love Cersei hair in general-usually, her styles are really easy to copy and are looking so much more complicated than they are. Also, usually the show gives us some shots from her backside and she doesn't wear hoods ore stuff like that normally (two factors that made it difficult to figure out what was going on with Ygritte's hairdo from yesterday) so normally, even the details of the styles can be seen easily and there are plenty of good tutorials on Youtube.

A specially good one is from torrinpaige:
Torrinpaige's Cersei hair tutorial

Torrin has really a lot of hair (about classic lenght, and really thick) so for those of you with less hair (like me)  maybe the tutorial of silvousplaits is better suited:

So, finally a pic of the look on my hair:

Flashlight makes everything looking frizzy...*grrr*

Basically, we're talking about two english braids at the crown of your had wrapped around a stick in a criss-cross way, pinned into place (after the pinning, take the stick out, of course) and two small front sections just loosly twisted and wrapped around the bun.
As you can see, I didn't do these little "puffs" torrinpaige was doing (and I believe, Cersei also had). that's simply because my hair doesn't like to make puffs and loops and stupp like that, they would just fall apart or turn into a gigantic frizzball until the end of the day. The photo aboe was taken after 10 hours of wearing the style, inculding school, riding the bike and laying on a sofa. It survived pretty well, not?

A really nice style!

Hairstyle of the day: Game of Thrones-Ygritte

Hello everyone!

Todays hairdo was the one of the character Ygritte from Game of Thrones. It's one of my favourite hairdos, and really not complicated at all!
You can see it on Ygritte almost everytime in a few different variations.

Since the character often wears a hood (and if not, some pelt scarfs are covering half her head) and is nearly never seen in one of those backside-shots that are awesome if you want to copy the hairstyle we can sometimes see from Cersei or Sansa (Cersei hair for the win!) and in addition, her hair is a really shaggy mess and it's in no way easy to see if this strand is a twist/loose rope braid or just something not combed for two weeks, it is really difficult to figure out what is actually going on on Ygrittes head in most episodes. But some ladies have done better than me and so, there are some great Youtube tutorials to be found!

The "main Ygritte hairstyle", meaning the variations of this style she seems to wear in most episodes (as said, it's really hard to see the details) is eyplained in a great tutorial by ladollyvita333:

And some other variations she is wearing sometimes are showed in this tutorial by silvousplaits:

Here are some of the best pictures of Ygrittes head to be found:

This one tells a bit about whats going on at the sides...

And this (a little silly) meme os giving a nice impression of the rope braids from the style she wears most times and the backcombed part in the front.

Here, finally, the hairdo we see on her most of the time on my head:

First one: without flashlight and about correct colours, second one: kill every natural look with the flashlight! *lol*
You see: french braid beginning at the fron of your hair line, braided french until about the crown of your head and then finished english, and two little rope braids joined under the french braid at the sides (I used a bobby pin to fix the french braid above the hair tie of the rope braids).
This hairdo takes me about 5-8 minutes (even tough I have longer hair than the actress and more lenght to braid, it's not too long to do this) and is really comfortable. It gives pretty much volume in the front and doesn't look overdressed in everyday live, specially if you make it a bit messy like the actress is wearing it- what I did not, because messy hair just looks horrid on me *lol*.

That was todays post from me- comment if you want to see more GoT hairstyles and maybe some video tutorials for some styles? I hd something in mind for a few Melisandre and Cersei hairdos, as well as some of less important characters....

Hair washing and colouring: 22. June 2014

Hello everyone!

(For some general information about my hair washing, caring, colouring and so on routine, check out my hair routine!)

So, today was hairwashing day! My hair was already pretty greasy and I wanted to colour it freshly for a nice golden glow before my vacations are ending tomorrow.

Prewash/Colour
Today's prewash treatment was Logona Goldblond, a plant hair colour. I mixed the powder only with water this time, I didn't had the time for some tea today *lol* . I applied it and let it on for about half an hour- that's shorter than usual, but I had little time.

Whashing
I only shampooed today-no conditioner. As always, I shampooed twice with my Babylove shampoo.

Care
As always, some Shea Butter in the ends and Alverde Bodybutter in the ends and lenghts.

Results
Nice! The colour is a bit less golden than usual, but that's only natural since it was on my hair for so little time. Usually, I let it on for about an hour.

Fading evening light+pyjamas-sorry!

Styling
I'm going to sleep in a braid for a few waves.
